Re: North Carolina Report Card

Clover Garden School is pleased to announce its 2010-11 academic performances and standings as required by the North Carolina Report Card.

Clover Garden School is once again given the "SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION" designation with expected growth. CGS is truly a school family with substantial collaboration and cooperation. Our staff has worked hard in 2010-11 and our results show it!

THE GOOD NEWS: CGS is a safe school with 96% attendance. We met 13 of 13 goals associated with Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) of federal legislation No Child Left Behind. 100% of our teachers are highly qualified. Our Graduation rate increased. Indicators show great progress in technology at CGS.

CGS students in grades 3-12 outperformed the state in every required testing category. In grades 3-8 we surpassed the state scores in Reading and Math. In grades 5 and 8, CGS Science Scores were excellent as compared to the other state science results.

CGS high school students overall performance was outstanding compared to the state results. Many of our results showed greater than 95% (>95%) proficiency in the testing categories. The number of students taking the SAT college entrance exam increased. The breakdown of students' performance scores by ethnicity and gender was overall good.

The CGS challenge will be to continue the same "High Growth" trends that we enjoy, especially at the high school level. We want to do better than maintain our current upward movement.
