REQUIRED MATERIALS:

To successfully complete this course, you will need the following items DAILY:

à Completed classwork/homework

à Assigned textbook(s)

à Planner or assignment pad

à 3 ring binder with paper or spiral notebook for note taking

à Spiral notebook or composition book for writing journal

à Pens, pencils, and a highlighter

à Other materials as requested

REQUIRED RESOURCES:

à A great attitude

à A willingness to learn

à A desire to work with and help others

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

à Arrive on time and ready for class

à Be considerate of others and respect their rights

à Pay attention and stay on-task

à Raise your hand and wait to be recognized

à Listen carefully to the teacher and when other students are speaking

GRADING SYSTEM:

à Tests and projects 40%

à Classwork (including notebook checks/quizzes) and essays 30%

à Homework 20%

à Class participation and discussions 10%

DAILY WORK:

à Notes will be given each day and students must keep them organized, as they will be checked periodically.

à Classwork will be assigned most days and will be reviewed the following day.

à Homework can be expected, but it usually includes finishing the assigned classwork or writing based on that day’s discussion. Homework will be reviewed the next day.

à Students are expected to prepare and participate in class discussions.
