· Parents, we have now finished our 1st week of school and we are “hitting the ground running”. Please help your child prioritize their workload each week by completing what can be done on the weekends. I give the deadline of Fridays hoping that you can decide with your child the best night to complete their work so that it all doesn’t fall on the same night. Please help your child gain responsibility by completing their work in a timely matter. Thanks!
· NO SCHOOL next Monday, January 16th in respect of the MLK Jr. Holiday! It will be a short week, but we will continue to have Current Events due by Friday, Decodable book due by Friday as well as your child’s AR Book. Please keep this in mind. Thanks!
· We are in the midst of planning our 3rd fieldtrip. Please continue to watch for information being sent home about this.
· GUEST SPEAKERS!!! Parents, I am need of guest speakers! We have begun reading our “Community Unit” on our community and the leaders in it. I am in need of any Community leaders that have a career helping our community to be able to come in and talk about their jobs for approx. 30-45 minutes. I had some wonderful guests come in last year and would like to continue that this year. If you or anyone you know has an important job in our community and could come in and speak to our class about their career, please contact me and let me know. If you can get their phone number or email address, name and career I will contact them to set something up. Last year I had a lot of people from different careers come in and speak about their career and some even brought samples/props from their jobs. It was a very interactive way for the students to learn about our community leaders. THANKS SO MUCH!!
