Syllabus

 

                                 Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything

 

GRADING SCALE:

Test/Projects: 50 %

HW/CW: 30%

Quizzes: 20%

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS WITH ME:

ð     Color pencils

ð     Notebook

ð     Pens and pencils

ð     History book

ð     A good attitude

EXPECTATIONS:

ð     I expect every student to be organized. I will do frequent notebook checks without warning and you will be graded on your organizational skills. You are to keep all papers given to you, unless I direct you otherwise. You will not be allowed to go to your locker.

ð     I expect you to have a good attitude in class.

ð     You will have the opportunity to correct most of your work. You may correct homework/classwork that is an 80 and below. However, I will only take corrections for the chapter that we are on. Write the question once and answer once You are not allowed to correct test and quizzes. However, if you obtain a parent signature, I will give you 5 points. Test and quizzes must be turned in by the end of the week. This is for your benefit. Please take advantage of it.

ð      This is going to be a demanding class. You will have projects to complete. You will have a quiz every 11 class periods. You will have chapter tests.  You will also have current events to complete. You are going to have to study and work hard for your grade. You earn your grade. I will not give you anything you do not earn. There is no reason or excuse why you should flunk my class. 

ð     BE ON TIME TO CLASS. That means when the bell rings you are in your seat with your notebook out ready to work. I have high expectations of everyone, your parents have high expectations, and so does the school. Ask questions. The only dumb question is the one not asked. I am here for you. I will help you in anyway I possibly can. Feel free to come to me if you need to talk or if you have questions.

ð     No late work will be accepted. If you are absent, you have 3 days to complete your work and turn it in.

 

CLASS RULES:

ð     Be on time to class

ð     Bring all materials to class

ð     Be respectful of classmates and school property             

ð     No food. I will let you have water/Gatorade.

ð     Do not talk until I recognize you

ð     Do not leave your seat unless I give you permission

 

 

   Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it!
